Cooking is a Contact Sport

Chefs cook with all their senses. You want to learn faster, understand faster? Use all your senses while you cook.

Take the Flavor Journal and expand your boundaries to include all your sense experiences as you cook. Tape the Flavor journal to the cupboard and as you observe something, write it down.

We eat with more than just our tastebuds. What do you see, hear, feel, smell as you go through the process. Then write it down.

Hints:

  1. Use the first box to observe your product in the raw state..
  2. Use the second box to observe your product as it cooks.
  3. The third box could be what you taste before your adjust seasonings and before plating.
  4. The fourth taste is your opportunity to try to sell your dish to a customer. What would you say to convince them o buy it and enjoy it.
